I know I'm not Oprah, but if I had the sponsors as she did, I would give every reader this item.  It's a little overpriced but this is the Pink Lady of apples. I did and you're worth it too.  Who doesn't want beautiful lips.  This is not your mothers chap stick, but it doesn't mean it shouldn't be.  An anti-aging lip treatment proven to repair the lips, significantly boost moisture, enhance volume, and improve the definition of the lip area.  Also available in tinted balm in an array of amazing and fun colors.  Rose is perfect for my coloring.  Just the natural pop of  color that I need.  After researching myself for several products I finally came across this.  I'm in no way disappointed except that I can't afford every color.

Hello g-star jacket!

The sequence of recent events leading to the desired loss of 200 hard earned American dollars.

G-Star Taylor Wool Coat

1.   I entered an overpriced boutique of 78% useless clothing.

2.  Wandered to the coat section where this coat was front and center.

3.  Noticed it was on sale. 

4.  Touched it, admired it and instantly fell in love with it.  After trying it on.  This is where I acknowledge my mistake of playing with fire.  

5.  Currently practicing extreme self control.

The good news is, I left the store.  The bad news is, I found it online.  It's on sale as well and much cheaper than the boutique.  I prefer to buy local but sometimes morals get broken over $50.  Still steadfast however the temptation is unbearable.  I should have never tried it on.   

Weathered wood for everyday living

I've been trying to fill my obsession with wood recently.  It seems I've overwhelming drawn to the rustic qualities, textures and multifunctionality. Is that a word?  It could be that I'm a little more rustic and weathered myself and I hope to remember the importance of reclamation. Look past the splinters and enjoy the beauty lies beneath.....and yes, I've referred to both the pictures below and myself.

Let the countdown begin!

It's December. The holy crap is inferred.  I'm not sure I've quite yet grasped that 'tis the season.  I had a nightmare last night that I had forgotten to buy my son a Christmas gift before he went to his dad's.  It's a hard perdicament I'm in.  I vowed I would never enter a store in December again but yet need to find the Christmas spirit.  Does that sound like Scrooge or plain old good logic in saving sanity this time of year.

However, thank goodness for holiday tradition. Rephrase. Thank goodness for other people's holiday tradition!  And in this case, thank goodness for my brother and his beautiful family. Every year they do a Christmas video in place of their holiday card. Last year's video made me laugh and cry. This years video is helping me get in the mood for the fun and uplifting season before us.  Let's celebrate and sing.  Bryan Setzer is always a good choice for a singing companion.

TGIF.........Need I Say More

It's Friday! Let the Hallelujah chorus begin. No work, No homework for Zoom and I can actually sleep past 5:30 tomorrow morning. After a long and stressful week I am ecstatic for the weekend.  I'm headed to San Diego to discuss a future project in the making.  But it will not be work.......especially when it's with an old friend.

While the words San Diego are relaxing enough, I ran across this photography collection from Antony Spencer.  I was instantly enamored. What amazing moments this man has captured.  I longed to be at each location he has ever shot.  Go to his site and check out his portfolio! If you can't make it to San Diego this weekend, I have a feeling it will transport you to a place with less stress and its a good reminder of how beautiful and amazing this planet is.

The Widows Mite

This last Christmas I discovered artist Annie Henrie at a local exhibit.  I loved this picture of Mary and the Christ child and snapped a picture with my phone thinking that I would remember her name.  When I arrived home, I found myself frustrated that I didn't write her name down and it was yet another realization that my memory is not what it used to be.  However, while walking through Salt Lake City recently, I came across this other picture and I instantly knew it was the same artist.  It had instantly struck a chord with me.  Upon further research, I learned that Annie was voted one of the great new talents under 30 for SouthWest Art Magazine and was receiving additional recognition for her talents.  There were several original pieces of work to admire that day but the $4000 price tag of The Widows Mite didn't quite fit in my budget.  Thankfully, they had a smaller giclee that I am now the proud owner of.  I am grateful for the inspiration that this picture now offers me.

Akro Agate (and yes that's English)

The unearthing continues at my parents house and how I feel I've just found gold!  I came across a beautiful child's tea set stored with my mothers vintage dolls.  I have no recollection of them (translation - I wasn't allowed to play with them as a child) but my heart raced with excitement. Could this be love? A quick image search of brightly colored glass identified them as Akro Agate Depression Era Glass.  The colors are majestic and vivid and of course are highly coveted among collectors.  The question now is.......Do I sell or keep?  If I keep I'm having a tea party with all my mothers dolls this afternoon. 

Move Over Chaquita

I love Twig and Thistle.  It is one of the sites I surf on a regular basis and I absolutely love these stickers.   Not necessarily for valentines day but for any day, anytime of the year, at least for that special someone.  What a great way to make your children smile when you pack fruit in their lunch.  You know they'll be sporting it around on their shirts.....or maybe even pass it on to someone else to share the joy.  They could only be better if they were scratch and sniff!
